Habs re-sign Plekanec to six-year deal

06/22/2010 - Montreal, QC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Montreal Canadiens have reportedly given forward Tomas Plekanec to a six-year contract on Tuesday.

The Montreal Gazette cited a report from TSN of Canada that said the deal is worth $30 million.

Plekanec posted career highs with 45 assists and 70 points in 82 regular- season games for the Habs. He racked up four goals and 11 points in 19 postseason contests but was held without a point in a five-game loss to Philadelphia in the conference finals.

In 393 total games over five-plus NHL seasons, the 27-year-old Czech has compiled 103 goals and 254 points.
