05/27/2010 - Richmond, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The University of Richmond is set to usher in football at its $25 million Robins Stadium with a 1 p.m. kickoff against Elon on Sept. 18.

The Spiders eliminated Elon from the FCS playoffs last season.

Richmond announced today all home game times for the inaugural season at Robins Stadium, which is an expansion of the old First Market Stadium. Including the home opener, three games start at 1 p.m., two games at 3:30 p.m., and one at 2 p.m.

The two 3:30 p.m. starts are CAA Football games versus Delaware (Sept. 25) and James Madison (Nov. 6). The 1 p.m. games are versus Elon (Sept. 18), Coastal Carolina (Oct. 2) and Towson (Oct. 23), which is the Homecoming game. The Rhode Island matchup (Nov. 13) kicks off at 2 p.m.

Richmond, which opens its season Sept. 4 at Virginia, will be playing on campus for the first time in 80 years. Robins Stadium will hold 8,700 spectators.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
